Sqeeze Some Exercise Into your Day
Having trouble fitting exercise into your daily routine? Try these five methods for sneaking some exercise into your day.
1) Stretch – Whether you’re training for a marathon, or you’ve been sitting at your desk too long, stretching is important for keeping your body limber and flexible. You can sneak a few stretches in throughout your day, keeping yourself fit and refreshed.
2) Workout at Work – Whatever type of work you do and wherever you do it, take time to get up and move around a bit during the day. This is especially important if you sit at a desk all day, but anyone can benefit from a quick walk around the building or an extra trip up and down the stairs.
3) Music – Turn on some music when you walk or as you do work around the house. Choose something that is lively and makes you smile. It will get you moving a little faster and give a lift to your mood, which makes everything you do seem like more fun.
4) T.V. Time – Spend a minute to think about all the different exercises you can be doing while you watch your favorite show: sit-ups, push-ups, leg lifts, arm circles, to name a few. Ride a stationary bike, walk on a treadmill, lift some weights. Use your imagination. The possibilities are endless.
5) Yoga – Relax before bed with a short yoga routine or just some deep breathing. You will gain multiple benefits in the form of exercise and a good night’s sleep.
